Located second from the northwest corner of Mackey and Mckinley, I believe the barber shop was upstairs.
The following two photos were taken December 1950, during the construction phase of the original Lady Dunn Hospital.

This picture, provided by Mike and Linda Rousseau was taken shortly after the hospital was built.
The original hospital could not meet the area's needs so a new Lady Dunn Hospital was built in 2003. The old hospital was located where the heavy equipment is parked.
This is the back entrance to the new Lady Dunn Hospital.
My wife, Helen and I were married in this church in 1969. This group of four pictures shows the United Church in Wawa. The first picture shows the church when it was under construction and the second picture shows the completed church, two years later. The third picture was taken in 1960. The last picture was taken August 2001.
This picture was taken in 1961. The church (slightly modified new entrance and slight extension to the length of the building) came from Parkhill. The church in Parkhill was built in the early 1930's and with the ceasing of mining at Parkhill, was moved down the hill to Wawa. It was on blocks for a short time (2-3 months) and then moved to this location. A short time later it had the renovations done to the state shown in the picture. This church has since been demolished and another placed on the lot beside - that spot is now a parking lot and grassy area. (There appears to have been a Catholic Church in Wawa during the early 20's prior to the great fire.) (Comments provided by Brenda Grundt of Wawa)
This is a composite photograph, taken August 2001. The original church was replaced by a new church to the left of the picture.
This photo of the church was taken in 1950.

This is located on Second Avenue, just half a block from Caverhill.
This picture was taken of the church in June 2004 and is barely visible because of all the trees that have grown around it.
This is a photo the original four room Sir James Dunn Public School taken in 1949.

These next four pictures show the different stages of the "Sir James Dunn". The first picture was taken after the south extension was added to the school. The picture was taken from where the Wawa Post Office is located. If you look between the house and the north end of the school, part of the old Hockey Rink can be seen. The second picture, taken in 1960, shows the north extension of the school and its final state. The third picture was taken on the far side of the school in the spring of 1974, shortly after the school burnt to the ground. The last picture, taken August 2001, shows the school that was built after the original burnt down. It is located where the old hockey rink used to be.
