The stock pile was built from the winter production. In the summer the stock pile was loaded into ore cars and sent to the "harbour". Notice the ACR freight shed in lower right corner of the picture.

This photo was taken in 1962 and shows sinter from the stock pile being loaded into ore cars for transport to Michipicoten Harbour. My dad did this job in the mid-fifties. Occasionally, I would ride my bicycle to the plant and my dad would let me ride on the shovel while he loaded the ore cars.
